Well, he is his father's son. But, if you look back at the "cover" I posted at the beginning of this arc, he's not wearing them. But, that won't stop him from using weapons when he needs to. Power isn't infinite and he can easily run low and still need to reach out and touch someone. If you've read Ad Astra, you've noticed Ajax walking around with a gun on his hip, even though he's bulletproof and super-strong, because his people have learned there's always something tougher than you out there and sometimes, muscle and bone ain't enough.

Well, when Mom can blow up buildings, at least you're not totally taken off guard by the prospect. It also helps to have friends.
In my completely unwritten history of this world, this is about the time some special schools are starting to be built, some government, some private, for dealing with kids with volatile powers.
And, though it's a couple of days late, due to my laziness and a visit from my oldest friend, Monday's strip gets up back to the Valiants' origin story and hints at Tommy's adaptation of his mother's power.

I feel your pain Joe. Oh God do I feel your pain.

I've been enjoying the flashbacks though, they provide a nice background. This one is a funny one-what does a parent do who discovers his/her kid can blow stuff up-without using explosives? Oh boy indeed.

Almost gave me a heart attack! I haven't seen a real comment here in months!
I realized after I'd done it that I needed wider breaks in the "glass". The gray tone doesn't help matters, either.
It's one of those experimental things you try once in awhile. Sorry the site's been so dead lately. I finally seem to be getting to the end of my horrible sinus headaches. It's been a really bad allergy season this year, and I've had splitting headaches for most of the last month. So hard to sit and draw when your head feels like it's in a freaking vice.
I decided to do one more flashback scene before returning to the Valiants storyline. Eventually, I gotta bring all this back around to Ad Astra!
Thanks for being a real comment!

Hi Joe,

I like the way the page looks, but I had trouble figuring out how to read through the panels. Not sure how to improve that, though more distinct panel boundaries (a heavier line, perhaps?) might help.

Thanks! I don't pretend to be Captain Original, or anything, but yeah. You know, that's one of the things I love about Invincible. You get to see the damage left behind by alien invasions, etc. Every disaster doesn't occur on a Sunday afternoon, and the heroes can't repair all the damage at superspeed. Concrete takes time to set, etc., etc. Wounds don't heal between panels.
